A Non-Invasive Way to Bust Cellulite
and Shrink Your Stubborn Fats
Summer is like an extended season here in Southern California, and for most days of the year, you can show some skin. But no matter how fit you are, there might be one or two things about your body or skin that bother you.
Studies show that 90% of women aged 25 to 60 say that they want to change some things in their bodies. One-third of them even said that they are willing to consider methods other than traditional diet and exercise to get the body they want.
If you’re like most people, you may have some areas of unwanted fat or cellulite that just won’t seem to go away, keeping you away from wearing shorts and skirts.
But thanks to non-invasive body shaping procedures like Velashape III, you can say goodbye to those imperfections and flaunt a flawless, firmer, and more toned body.
Continue reading the rest of this article to know more about Velashape III.
What is Velashape III?
Velashape III targets one of the most common problems among women — cellulite. It reduces its appearance in the treated areas and is especially popular for thigh cellulite.
Other than your thighs, Velashape III can also reduce cellulite in other parts of your body, such as the abdomen, flanks, buttocks, and upper arms. It can even reduce excess fat and get rid of mild sagging under the chin.
Velashape III uses a combined energy system called elōs™, which first uses a small vacuum to elevate the skin, then treats it with infrared light and radiofrequency energy.
The elōs™ system employs:
- Vacuum technology, which gently suctions the skin closer to the energy source
Mechanical massage with rollers, which works with the suction to stretch the fibrous bands under the skin that cause cellulite, making contouring easier
- Infrared light and bipolar radiofrequency energies, which heat fat cells and surrounding tissues, shrinking them. They also tighten the underlying dermal collagen fibers and stimulate elastin and collagen production, firming up the skin and reducing laxity over time.
This deep therapeutic treatment has quickly gained popularity because it delivers consistent and reproducible results with minimal downtime or discomfort.
Compared to Velashape I and II, Velashape III uses higher amounts of energy more safely. Because of this, you can expect shorter treatment times and faster results, with some patients reporting favorable results right after their first session.
What are the Benefits of Velashape III?
The VelaShape III procedure has led to great results for many patients. It uses smart radiofrequency technology, which ensures consistent energy delivery and reduces the number of non-responders.
The results of Velashape III treatments have been well-documented in more than five million independent treatments performed in over ten years. Patients have even dropped one full dress size after a series of Velashape III treatments.
One study revealed that 85% of patients had reported ½ -inch to three inches of reduction in the size of treated areas. Additionally, patients see a decrease in the amount and visibility of cellulite in those areas, coupled with tighter and more toned skin.
Velashape III has the most number of published studies among medical body shaping devices. No wonder it is one of the most recognized non-invasive body shaping treatments in the market today.
Because Velashape III can achieve the required temperature in less time, it reduces the treatment time to only one hour. Its Intelligent Feedback System efficiently sustains the temperature longer without causing patient discomfort.
Compared to Velashape I and II, it also needs fewer treatment sessions. Typically, patients need three to six sessions to achieve optimal results, although some have seen results as early as their first session.
The device has a real-time temperature sensor that monitors elevated temperature in the tissue, making your treatment precise and increasing your comfort level.
In fact, most patients likened Velashape III treatments to a relaxing hot stone or warm deep tissue massage.
Velashape III can be used on all skin types in any season and climate.
As a body shaping treatment, you can get a series of Velashape III treatments at a very affordable price.
Velashape III vs. Endermologie vs. CoolSculpting: What are the Differences?
Velashape III is often compared to Endermologie, a non-invasive procedure that treats cellulite on the thighs, buttocks, and other areas.
However, Endermologie only uses suction and massage therapy to reduce cellulite’s appearance, making it less potent than Velashape III.
As for CoolSculpting, most plastic surgeons combine it with Velashape III because these procedures complement each other.
While Velashape III improves the appearance of cellulite and circumferential fat, CoolSculpting reduces unwanted fat and treats fat bulges by freezing fat cells.
Are You a Good Candidate for Velashape III?
You can get Velashape III if you want to contour your body and get rid of trouble spots that regular diet and exercise can’t solve.
Since it’s not a weight loss procedure, you must have a body mass index of 30 to qualify for the treatment. You should also be on stage 1 or 2 on the Nurnberger-Muller Cellulite Scale, which means you have some skin dimpling or “orange peel” look when you’re standing up.
Before undergoing Velashape III, make sure that you’ve stopped taking blood thinners or aspirin at least five days before your appointment to reduce your risk of bruising.
It is also recommended to stay hydrated, as radio waves travel faster through water, making the radiofrequency energy more effective.
How is a Velashape III Treatment Done?
Once you have been examined, our aesthetician places a handheld device against your skin. You’ll feel some suctioning on your skin as it gently pulls the skin’s fatty layer closer to the device.
Doing so allows your fat to be better exposed to the infrared light and RF energy. It drives heat deeper into the tissues and opens up compressed vessels, thereby increasing lymphatic drainage.
You’ll also feel some warmth as the device heats the connective tissues, stimulating collagen and elastin production.
Infrared light penetrates the dermis, improving collagen formation and metabolic changes to fat cells. Radiofrequency energy goes deeper to the hypodermis, targeting connective and fatty tissues.
Our technician will make sure to maintain the temperature between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius to produce optimal results. She can easily adjust this to ensure a comfortable and painless experience for you.
After one session, you’ll feel like you’ve just had a deep tissue massage.
How Do You Recover from Velashape III?
It’s normal to experience a warm sensation on your treated areas for up to a few hours after your treatment. Your skin may also appear pinkish for several hours.
You might also experience bruising for a few days after treatment, but that usually clears up within a week. Expect some tenderness on the treated area for a few days after your session.
If you still feel some heat on the treated area after the procedure, you may cool it with cold packs or fans.
For 12 hours after your treatment, avoid using perfumes, body lotions, and sprays on your treated areas. Avoid showering or bathing in hot water as well. Similarly, you can’t go to a sauna, steam room, or jacuzzi during this time, nor should you engage in exercise.
Avoid swimming and waxing within the first 24 hours after treatment. You should also avoid sunbathing or spray tanning in the first two weeks post-Velashape III.
What are the Results of Velashape III?
After six to eight weeks and three to six sessions of Velashape III, you can expect:
- Reduced circumferential fat
- Reduced appearance of cellulite
- Smoother and firmer skin surface
- Possible reduction of one full dress size
Results may last up to six months. And since the results are temporary, it is recommended to get Velashape III treatments around three to four times a year.
You should also follow a balanced diet and exercise regimen to maintain your results.
How Much Does Velashape III Cost?
The actual cost depends on several factors, such as the number of sessions, size of the treatment area, practice location, and experience and expertise of your technician.
For cellulite treatment at The Aesthetic Centers, VelaShape III costs about $1,800 for a series of treatments. Most patients require six treatments to see the results they desire.
For abdomen tightening and circumferential reduction, a series of three treatments is typically required for a total of $1,200. Afterward, we recommend patients return for a single maintenance treatment every three months.
