Facelift, Neck Lift, Brow Lift, Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty
This 70 year old patient presented to Dr. Siamak Agha for a Facelift, Neck Lift, Brow Lift, and Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty. The patient was unhappy with her facial aging, the fine lines and wrinkles throughout her face, and the deep bags under her eyes.
Upon examination, Dr. Agha noted that the patient had deflation throughout her face, especially in her cheeks. She also had excess skin on both her upper and lower eyelids, and severe bags on her lower eyelids. Finally, she had a moderate degree of neck tissue and skin laxity, and prominent platysmal bands- the two bands of muscle that appear down the center of the neck with age.
Dr. Agha began the patient’s Facelift by performing a Brow Lift. He created small incisions on either side of the patient’s forehead, hidden beneath her hairline. From these incisions, the patient’s eyebrows were lifted, and the forehead sagging and wrinkling were reduced and softened. Then, Dr. Agha turned his attention to the Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty. Through incisions hidden in the natural creases of the eyes, he removed the excess sagging skin and muscle on the patient’s upper and lower eyelids, giving her brighter, more open eyes, and tightening the bags under her eyes. Next, he performed a Corset Platysmaplasty to repair the neck bands under her chin.
For the Facelift and Neck Lift, an incision was made within each of the patient’s sideburns that went into the natural creases of her ears and finished behind the earlobes. Through these incisions, the patient’s facial and neck muscles were tightened and lifted, giving a smoother and more youthful appearance to the patient’s face and neck. Then, the skin was re-draped over the face and neck, and tightened to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Finally, a small volume of fat was injected into each of the patient’s cheeks to give the patient’s cheeks a more youthful fullness.
After the patient’s facial procedures, she looked significantly younger. Her facial wrinkling was significantly softened and her eyelids had much less sagging and fullness. The patient’s Facelift before and after photos were taken a year after her procedure.
