Liposuction Results

For those close to their ideal weight but still dealing with stubborn pockets of fat, liposuction can be an ideal solution. Localized fat pockets can create bulges or simply unsightly areas that diet and exercise are unable to fix. Liposuction can remove these bulges and give you your ideal body shape.
Liposuction works by first breaking up the fat using a small cannula and then the fat is sucked out of the body using a vacuum. The procedure can work on the chin, jawline, neck, arms, abdomen, back, thighs, hips, and calves. It can work on almost any part of the body, but it’s best if you have firm and elastic skin.
You may see some results from liposuction immediately, but as there is likely to be some swelling after the procedure, it can take up to 12 weeks to see the final results.

Liposculpting
Liposculpting, also known as liposuction or body contouring, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to remove stubborn fat deposits and reshape specific areas of the body. The goal of liposculpting is to enhance body proportions and create a more sculpted, toned appearance.
During the procedure, a qualified plastic surgeon uses a small tube (cannula) to carefully harvest excess fat from targeted areas, such as the abdomen, thighs, hips, arms, or chin. Unlike traditional liposuction, liposculpting allows for precise fat removal, enabling the surgeon to shape and define the treated area more effectively.
While liposculpting can deliver noticeable results, it is essential to understand that it is not a substitute for weight loss or a healthy lifestyle. Ideal candidates should be close to their target weight and have good skin elasticity. As with any surgical procedure, there are risks involved, and it’s crucial to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine if liposculpting is suitable for individual needs and expectations.
High-Definition Liposuction / Lipo-Etching
Lipo-etching, also known as high-definition liposuction, is an advanced body contouring technique that takes liposuction to a new level of precision. It is designed to create a more defined and sculpted appearance by selectively removing fat to enhance muscle definition.
During lipo-etching, a skilled plastic surgeon uses specialized cannulas and liposuction techniques to carefully target specific areas around muscles, such as the abdomen, chest, arms, and thighs. By precisely sculpting the fat layer, the surgeon can accentuate the underlying muscle contours, resulting in a more athletic and toned appearance.
This procedure is especially popular among individuals seeking a more chiseled physique or those who engage in regular exercise but struggle to achieve their desired muscle definition due to stubborn fat deposits.
As with any cosmetic surgery, lipo-etching requires a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine candidacy and set realistic expectations for the results.
Large Volume Liposuction
While traditional liposuction can remove a decent amount of fat, large-volume liposuction can remove quite a bit more and all in one session. With large-volume liposuction, up to 5 liters of fat can be removed safely from various areas of your body in one setting. More than that amount in one session can cause fluid shit which will require overnight stay in a hospital for monitoring. If you’re looking to remove more, the surgeon will break the procedure up into two or more stages with at least 6-8 weeks in between.
The results of large-volume liposuction typically show up about six weeks after the procedure when the swelling has subsided.
Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction
Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) also known as Vaser liposuction, uses soundwaves to destroy large amounts of fat cells in the treatment area. Once the fat is broken up with ultrasound energy, it can then be easily sucked out. UAL is particularly effective on fibrous fat that can be difficult to remove with traditional liposuction technique.
This form of liposuction can also be used on more difficult areas like the neck, chin, knees, calves, and ankles as well as larger areas like the abdomen, back, chest, and thighs.
UAL is also much less invasive than the traditional method. Because the fat is being liquefied by the ultrasound energy, there is no risk of tearing nearby tissue or other complications. It results in less bleeding and bruising, and possibly better contour.
“I had the pleasure of meeting with Melanie and then Dr. Agha back in October 2022 and with surgery set for November 21, 2022. I had lipo done to my upper and lower back, love handles, upper arms and back legs. Fat transfer to the rear end to smooth and balance out. Corrective Liposuction
Apart from these, Dr. Pu and Dr. Agha also offer corrective liposuction procedures such as liposhifting for those who have contour irregularities after previous liposuction.
Liposhifting is a corrective liposuction technique that involves shifting the fat under the skin. This is meant to undo any irregularities, like indents or uneven bulges of fat, after a liposuction procedure.
Our plastic surgeons use specialized instruments and a variety of procedures to loosen your liposuction scar tissue and the fat cells in the treatment area. They then inject those fat cells into the appropriate areas for a smoother look.
