Restylane® Dermal Fillers
Say Goodbye to Aging Skin and
Hello to a Refreshed Face
You don’t realize how much you’ve physically aged until you take a long and hard look at the mirror. As you age, fine lines and wrinkles become visible around the eyes, nose, and mouth. Your once plump cheeks begin to look a little hollow while the rest of your facial skin sag.
After all, many visible signs of aging can be traced to volume loss. Addressing this problem is the key to managing life with loose and sagging facial skin for the rest of your life.
But thanks to Dr. Siamak Agha, one of the top plastic surgeons in Orange County and Los Angeles, you can restore your face’s lost volume using Restylane® dermal fillers.
These fillers are gel-like substances injected beneath the skin to store moisture and give your skin a plump, hydrated look. It can smooth fine lines, soften creases, and enhance facial contours.
Although a facelift will give you the best results, you can still feel confident with your facial appearance without undergoing any facial surgery through Restylane injections.

What is Restylane®?
Restylane® dermal fillers are made of biodegradable hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that provides volume and fullness to the skin. It attracts and holds water to help keep your skin plump and hydrated.
These fillers are injected to get rid of moderate to severe wrinkles and nasolabial folds. Aside from smoothing out wrinkles, Restylane® can also be used to fill in scars and under-eye hollows.
And because it can retain hydration, Restylane® can be used for non-surgical lip and cheek augmentation as well, plumping your lips and lifting your cheeks for a more youthful appearance.
What are the Fillers in the Restylane® Family?
Restylane® prides itself on having the most diverse fillers in the market in terms of gel particle size and texture. It’s all thanks to two technologies used to stabilize the fillers’ hyaluronic acid molecules: NASHA and OBT.
NASHA gels are characterized as firm, making them perfect for lifting and enhancing projection and definition. The hyaluronic acid was only minimally modified so that the body does not recognize it as foreign.
NASHA technology is used for Restylane®, Restylane® Silk, and Restylane® Lyft.
On the other hand, OBT gels are softer and more flexible than NASHA gels, making them excellent options for contouring and adding volume to the middle part of the face.
It is also preferred for treating dynamic areas that require tissue support while maintaining animation, such as your lips, marionette lines, and nasolabial folds.
OBT technology is used in Restylane® variants like Defyne, Kysse, and Refyne.
Let’s take a closer look at each Restylane® dermal filler type.
How Does Restylane® Work?
Your treatment starts with a consultation with our physician assistant to ensure you’re a suitable candidate for a Restylane® dermal filler. You may also discuss any treatment concerns and expectations.
Restylane® may interact with other drugs, so make sure that you inform our physician assistant if you’re currently taking any medications, especially blood thinners.
Based on the consultation and assessment, our physician assistant will recommend the best type of Restylane® filler or combination to help you reach your aesthetic goals.
What are the Risks and Side Effects?
Although Restylane® is considered very safe, some patients reported mild and short-lived side effects.
The following usually resolve within one to two weeks:
- swelling
- redness
- bruising
- tenderness
- pain
- itching
- lump formation
How Do You Recover from Restylane® Injections?
Restylane® requires little or no downtime, so you may return to your daily activities immediately after the procedure.
You may also return to work soon after, although you might want to give yourself a day to rest and recover if you’ve had several injections.
Mitigate swelling and bruising by placing an ice pack over the swollen area. You may also take pain meds and apply ice packs to get rid of mild discomfort and numb the treated areas.
To hasten your recovery, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages and engaging in strenuous exercises and activities for a few days. Avoid exposing yourself to the sun and heat to prevent permanent scarring.
What are the Results of Restylane®?
Depending on the type of Restylane® filler you get and your treatment area, you can enjoy the following results:
- Fewer facial wrinkles and fine lines in the treated areas
- More volume and plumpness in the treated areas
- Younger-looking skin
- Increased confidence and self-esteem
Restylane® dermal fillers create instant results, but they are not permanent and last only for a maximum of 18 months. The length of your results depends on the filler type, treatment area, and your body’s response.
If you want to maintain results, you’ll need more rounds of injections once your body has wholly metabolized the filler.
How Much Does Restylane® Cost?
A single Restylane® syringe may cost anywhere between $275 and $700. The final price depends on how much product is used.
Usually, one Restylane® syringe measuring about one cc is enough to perform lip augmentation. It may take up to two syringes to fill nasolabial folds, depending on how deep they are.
Schedule a consultation with our physician assistant to estimate your cost and know about available financing options, as these injections are not covered by insurance.
